Shawn and I set off on our vanlife East Coast road trip just a few days ago unsure of where we were really going to land. We started in Greensboro, NC and quickly decided to head North East to our favorite city, Philadelphia. Last time we went to Philadelphia, we ate and drank our way through the city and immediately fell in love. Since turning vegan we were anxious to head back as it is known for being very vegan-friendly.

After a few google searches, it was clear there were a few amazing places to get a vegan Philly cheesesteak. To me, it was down to Wiz-kid and Blackbird Pizzeria. Since Blackbird seemed to have won the latest award I went with that.
To our surprise, they had a cute back outdoor space where they happily let Milo our dachshund hang out with us while we ate. Since we were starving and their entire menu is completely plant-based we decided to try out their Vegan Philly cheesesteak AND their vegan pizza.
The reviews were not wrong and the vegan Philly cheesesteak did not disappoint. Shawn kept asking me over and over, “are you sure this is vegan?”. The cheese is so delicious and tastes so authentic and not anything like most faux-cheeses taste like. It is the cheese-whiz kind of cheese and you will not find yourself missing a traditional Philly cheesesteak.
Even Milo wanted a bite!
The pizza was also good but honestly, nothing can compare to how delicious the Cheesesteak was. Thanks, Blackbird Pizzeria for the amazing experience!
